When Jay Zeballos was 6 he fell in love with martial arts movies and wanted to leave his theater and fencing classes to start martial arts. While waiting in line at the post office with his father, Jay heard kids from a TaeKwondo across the street practicing. Jay ran out of the post office and bolted across the street to the school. When he got there Jay was sure his dad was going to whip his butt, and Jay thought it would be worth it. However, Jay's dad was impressed with his son's enthusiasm and signed him up for classes.
This started a martial arts journey that continues to this day, over five decades later. To hear how Jay went from that 6-year-old kid who loved martial arts movies to become an incredibly well-respected jiu jitsu instructor and the right-hand man of jiu jitsu legend Jean Jacques Machado follow the link below and listen to episode #138 of The RŌL Radio.
